I’ve updated the layout CSS on thresholdstate.com to use a much simpler 2 column method.
The previous incarnation used a variation on Matthew Levine’s Holy Grail layout, which turned out to have some significant browser compatibility issues. The new layout uses a simple position: absolute; for the right hand menu, which works fine here since I’m not using colours or borders for either column.
This should fix issues with older IE versions.
