zem_dropcash

Display the progress of a Dropcash donation campaign in real time.

Dropcash is a new service for organizing fundraising campaigns. It uses Paypal to handle payments; but, unlike Paypal’s donation buttons, Dropcash lets you specify a target amount, and monitor the progress of donations.

The Dropcash plugin for Textpattern handles the job of displaying a near-real-time progress graph for a specified campaign – see below for an example. It also provides a conditional tag that only displays content when a given donation milestone has been reached. You could use this to hide the body of a Textpattern article and have it automatically published when enough donations have been received, for example.

The default output looks something like this:

Seems like at least 50% of plugins in use on my site are either from you or Rob Sable – thanks for all of your stellar work to extend Txp.

Request for 0.3: Dreamhost recently turned off allow_fopen_url for their shared server. Rockstars can compile their own PHP to have it back, but for the rest of us, could you consider rewriting your plugin using cURL?

I attempted to edit the plugin after installing it on my site, but I get a 503 whenever I hit “Save” (and this happens whether or not it’s active, and even if I merely attempt to save the unaltered plugin code).

Much appreciated.
